Emerald Indoor Sports Complex

The Emerald Indoor Sports Complex was designed to provide a modern, flexible sporting facility capable of supporting a wide range of indoor sports, community activities and regional competitions. The brief focused on creating a venue that could accommodate large participant and spectator numbers while providing clear separation between athletes, officials, spectators and support facilities. The client sought a practical, durable and future-focused facility that would become a key sporting destination for the Emerald region.
The design centred around efficient circulation, functional zoning and operational flexibility. Careful planning ensured smooth movement throughout the facility, with dedicated areas for competition courts, spectator viewing, amenities, administration and support spaces. The large-span building form allowed the internal sporting areas to remain unobstructed while providing the flexibility required to host multiple sporting codes and event configurations. Accessibility, safety and crowd management were key considerations, with clear wayfinding, generous circulation spaces and logical connections between all functional areas contributing to a seamless user experience.
The completed facility delivers a high-quality indoor sporting environment capable of supporting everything from local training sessions through to major regional competitions. Flexible court configurations, spectator facilities and supporting amenities provide a venue that meets the needs of athletes, officials and visitors alike. The result is a landmark community asset that strengthens sporting participation, supports regional events and provides Emerald with a modern indoor recreation facility designed to serve the community for many years to come.
