Perched above one of the Capricorn Coast's most spectacular coastal outlooks, 'Solina' was designed to embrace panoramic ocean views while responding carefully to the challenges of a steep and highly exposed site.

The client brief centred on creating a modern coastal home that would maximise its connection to the surrounding landscape while remaining comfortable, private and protected from the coastal elements throughout the year. Balancing these competing objectives became the driving force behind the design.

The home's arrangement carefully responds to the natural slope of the land, allowing living spaces to be elevated toward the outlook while integrating seamlessly with the site's topography. Large expanses of glazing frame uninterrupted views of the coastline, while strategically positioned walls, screening elements and landscaped courtyards provide privacy and shelter from prevailing winds without compromising the connection to the outdoors.

A restrained material palette of crisp white forms, natural stone and warm screening elements reinforces the home's coastal character while creating a sense of timelessness and refinement. The architectural composition balances openness and protection, allowing the home to capture natural light, cooling breezes and expansive vistas while maintaining comfort in all seasons.
